Stop your site from getting hacked

It’s every website owners nightmare – Imagine waking up in the morning to find a Russian logo on your wesbite with all your website data gone.

While Gridhost take extreme steps to stop any malicious activities from taking place on your website and with your account, there are a few things you ought to know when securing your website:

Back up your website

This is something we cant stress enough – Gridhost take weekly backups of your site on your behalf just in case, however, we recommend backing up at least once every 5 days for good measure.

Keep up to date

If your running software like blogging systems or content management systems, it’s critical that you stay up to date with the latest software releases. Gridhost updates it’s cPanel applications as soon as a stable release is available and this is something you should keep in mind with your own site.

Passwords – choose a good one

Choosing a good password for your cPanel and web applications can save you alot of time in the long run. Always use a mixture of upper and lower case letters mixed in with some numbers. Try stay away from generic passwords like names and numbers only.

Get some Gridhost goodness

If something has indeed happened to your website in the form of malicious activity, Gridhost will do it’s best to assist with rectifying the problem for you. Although it’s not always possible to fix a SQL injection or hack attempt, we can certainly do our best for you.

    Lol 2 weeks ago this happened to me. It really is the worst feeling in the world. Since then i have installed WP-Firewall and it has been working great. I would recommend it to anyone using WordPress :)
